1999 Citroen Xsara temperature fault and fan on constant

Gave my car to a mechanic to have the clutch replaced , broke down the following day with loss of power and various fault messages on dash . Called out the AA who found 2 earth engine bolts left undone , car is now running but have the fan stuck on and temperature warning message as car thinks it's overheating , also indicators are working but no sound on dash ???
Please any ideas ???

Checked coolant / water level ?

check the plug to the engine temp sensor
