2000 Citroen Xsara grinding when pull off

i have stopped driving the car today as the car has a grinding noise under the drives side. i also find it hard to change gears and steering is difficult any ideas b4 some cowboy rips me off with loads of new parts.please help any ideas will help.

could be a number of things like needing new discs and pads hence the grinding noise you are getting as for the gear changing could be clutch fluid requires topping up and bleeding
