2004 Citroen Xsara engine just cuts out in traffic, when engine warm and going up a hill, but only when car has been parked for a short time.

Car: Citroen Xsara
Year: 2004
Variant: 2 HDi
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Only happens when:

1) Engine is warm.
2) Car has been parked for ten minutes or so.
3) Car comes to a hill.

Going up the hill, the engine will just quit. Warning light comes on. Alternate codes P1352 P1372 P1352 P1372.

ECU changed. Pre-heater relay changed. Injectors swapped.

Can anyone help with this potentially lethal fault?

Many thanks.

P1372 relates to crankshaft position sensor,p1352 relates to ground fault at cyl. 2.First though is your engine earth lead okay and in clean condition and is the crankshaft position sensor connection ok.

Thank you.

Crankshaft sensor was replaced. I understand that lead to sensor is unscreened and needs to be routed correctly so I'll check the garage did this.

Car failed again today - usual symptoms - engine warm, recently parked, going up first hill, same fault codes. Interestingly, engine won't start after failure for several minutes - then starts and runs as normal. Beginning to suspect the primary fuel pump may not be delivering 0.8bar pressure when going uphill, thus the hp pump valve won't open and cuts fuel to injectors. Don't see how this could give fault codes though. Car had new starter motor fitted 2 months ago - before problems started. Could this be significant?

Appreciate your suggestions, and thanks again.
