2001 Citroen Xsara clock flasing

The clock on my radio display has started flshing. I know that when the temp. is displayed and its in the minus it flashes but its the actual time thats doing it. Any ideas?

On some models of Xsara on the top right side of dashboard there are two buttons one looks like a book the other arrows, they change date/time .
