2003 Citroen Xsara Picasso headlight / stalk switch fault

headlights come on by themseves when engine starts and after indicating then go off again,common fault i hear but i have bought a second hand stalk and now ive been told if i fit it the mileage from the car its off will replace my mileage is this true? and how could i fix my light problem?

Never heard of that happening with mileage .Any one else came across this ?

I will be going ahead with the stalk replacement on the off chance it might work,so il keep you peeps updated just in case you face the same problem sometime.If anybody has any suggestions about my fault/fix dont hesitate to post it thanks.

I had the same problem with my citroen c5 i replaced stalk with secondhand one yesterday and everything is working 100 per cent now,and milage still the same as it was before
