2003 Citroen Xsara Picasso wipers and washers not working

front wipers and washer failed, plugged computer into bsi unit and you can activate them there but fault comes up as wipers failed to seat properly, un plug the diagnostic machine and nothing any ideas !!!!

do wipers move up screen if you turn ignition off then operate wiper stalk downwards once?

no as soon as the diagnostic computer is unplugged nothing happend when i move the stalk.

Make sure diag unplugged and ignition switched off then operate wiper stalk downwards within one minute.
