Jumping out of gear

Can someone help
I have a problem with my car, I can be drving down the car & the car as problems picking uo its gears, the next thing it jumps out of gear all together & pulls away at a snails pace, the only way to get it working again is to turn the car off & put in to park & then re-start, there is also a bep when it jumps out of gear, had the problem awhile & only getting worse, can any advise what they think the problem is.

Need to get car scanned and see what shows .

this could be down to a number of faults.
torque converter faulty,auto fluid low or needs changing, blocked filter or breather in gearbox clean out or if all fails major gearbox problem.
cheapest option buy gearbox from salvage yard and get it fitted. can be too costly to repair.
