Radio won't turn off, no radio display

The radio will not turn off, even when I turn the ignition off. The steering column radio controls will not operate and the section of the electronic display for the radio will not work at all (no mpg info etc)
The radio will not turn to cd player the radio is ok apart from not being able to turn off. I removed the fuse for the radio and the intermittent wiper operated.
Help.

you may have a fault with the multi function display. try disconnecting it then reconnecting it .

I have the same problem with a 05 1.6 Picasso I have just bought also the outside temp indicator stays at -- Any help would be good.

Sorry no solution but the same thing has happened to me yesterday. First of all the radio and radio display stopped working. Took radio out, put it back and started engine. Started working (radio only) but can now not switch off. Display symptoms same as yours. David

My similar problem now solved. Disconnected battery for a few minutes to allow full discharge of ECU or BSI. Following reconnection of the battery everything went back to normal.
(Battery under front passenger seat. Remove 3 hex screws at the rear and tilt seat forward to expose battery cover)
