my temperature gauge only works sometimes.its been like this for about 12 months.sometimes it works fine,showing 2 or 3 bars,but then it goes off completely for a few miles,then comes back on again.but now,every couple of weeks it shoots right up,and the red light and buzzer shows engine overheating stop engine.i do this,and check the engine,its not too hot and it never uses,or loses any water,when i restart the engine every thing seems fine until the next time.can anyone tell me what is wrong?

hay..it may be a faulty temp sensor or even faulty dash clocks.try sensor first

Did you ever get to the bottom of your temperature gauge problems on your Picasso?
I'm just experiencing the same problem, and came across your message on a google search.
My regular grease monkey (!) has already replaced the engine block temperature sensor and still the problem persists. Again, the engine doesn't actually appear to be overheating, similar to your circumstances. Now my garage guys are scratching their heads somewhat.
I note the query was originally posted some time back - I was wondering if you ever got the bottom of it?

MY PICASSO AS JUST STARTED COMING UP WITH THE SAME SORT OF PROBLEMS THAT U GUYS ARE EXPERIENCING WITH TEMP GAUGE GOING RIGHT UP TO TOP BAR AND MESSAGE COMING ON IN CAR OVERHEAT STOP CAR THEN ENGINE FAN COMES ON AND STAYS ON TILL CAR STOPS ANY BODY WITH IDEAS PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
