2000 Citroen Xsara Picasso petrol smell in car

I have only had this car just over a week and sometimes there is a strong smell of petrol inside and outside the car. I took it back to Citroen garage today who have checked the car and there are supposed to be no leaks (its a pressurised system I was told). Any other ideas ?

usually when this happens its down to the vent pipe being blocked and requires either replaceing or unblocking or could be just that you may have filled it to much

I had a similar problem on my diesel Xsara (not Picasso). I am not sure if the petrol Picasso is the same. When I filled up with fuel it overflowed the fuel pump housed under the rear offside passenger seat, leaving fuel on top of pump and dripping onto the ground under the car. The solution was to have a new seal fitted to the pump. Hope this helps.
