2004 Citroen Xsara Picasso cutting out

My car loses all power every now and then and cuts out.Once stopped I switch off the ignition and switch on again and the car starts up ...it comes up as a engine fault but once restarted all okay until the next time ..could be 2 weeks 2 months..garage reckons it could be the Fuel Pump

Get the garage to read the fault code that is triggering the light rather than guess .

Mine started doing the same thing,have found that knocking the key with my knee cuts the engine,restarts straight away.
Have changed the key unit complete,but still does it if touched,Funny I cannot do it by trying to move or wiggle it.
Still have the problem as well,damn dangerous at 70 miles an hour..
