I was a MOT tester for more years than I can remember and owned a MOT test station , but now retired .Unfortunately I don't have current MOT manual on recent updates . Surprised that hazards working fine apart from audible is a fallible item .

Thank you for your reply It seems starange to me I have owned the car for 4 years now and it has been the same ever since I have had and never been an issue and now being a 14 year old car not sure if it's just the way it is it's says on the mot "hazard warning lamps not working when ignition is off" they clearly are just not audible

I would question the testing station that failed the car on this and if not getting a satisfactory answer then contact DVSA for definitive answer . I would be interested in outcome .It may well be correct or just needed to be listed as an advisory note on MOT .You could be trying to fix a " fault " that does not exist .

I agree,
contact the DVLA or whatever they're called now.
MOT testers can get a real bug up they're ass about some things.
One tester I knew failed just about every older car on rusty ferules that are crimped onto brake flexi lines.
Now OK rust on brake pipes IS a very bad thing,
but pipes themselves are only around 0.75mm thick.
Ferules are over 4mm thick,
As I demonstrated when I dropped one that I'd cut in half into his hand and said "You fail a car on rusty ferules again and I'm calling the number printed on the back of the failure"
Besides what difference does it make if there's an audible warning inside the car when the keys off?
Or is this one of those if a tree falls in the woods but there's nobody to hear it does it still make a noise?
Horse apples.

Shouldn't fail MOT just because there is no audible noise when hazards are operated with the ignition off,as long as the Tell Tale works ie the switch illuminates along with the flashers or a separate lamp illuminates at the same time as the flashers.

Thank you for all your in put later models have the clicking sound think I may contact someone about this the button it's self illuminates when pressed along with the direction lights all flash on the car front and rear all at the same time a garage have come up with it might need a new dash ok it's not expensive part but apart from this noise it works in my knowledge as it should so not really sure what is going on with it I appreciate all your answers any more knowledge would be a great help many thanks
