Hi all, if i buy a sony stereo will it stop the beeping in my citroen xsara Picasso?

Some info ,
" On Citroen/Peugeot multiplexed radios there is no radio code, instead the head unit is programed with the VIN number of the car into it, if the number in the radio & the number in the BSI dont match it gives off the beep every 5 seconds so that its not really any good to someone if its stolen.
Your citroen dealer or someone with Lexia/Proxia can reprogram it for you."
