The car is shaking / vibrating, engine warning light is on but when you accelerate it stops shaking but engine light remains on. The shaking is worse when I'm reversing.

Get it scanned/code read,
I's not a miss fire evident by he black smoke,
That's unburnt fuel,
So the injector is opening.
My next test if it were here would be compression test.

Are you trying to say maybe the problem is with the imjectors??
