My picasso turns over goes to start then just dies,you put foot on accelerator and there is nothing . You leave it try again and same thing. It will eventually start and takes anything from couple of mins to half hour . Took it to garage no diagnostics showing up any ideas

Common rail diesel,
it needs an amazing amount of fuel pressure just to fire,
200 bar!
So first test is cranking speed,
these need a MINIMUM of 180-200 RPM when cranking over.
So if not then it may need a new battery/starter.
neither of which show up as fault codes.

have known these to have problems with the low pressure fuel pipes not having a good seal and drawing in air.Next time you try and start it just pump the primer bulb a few times and see if it helps

Hi I self prime it when it won't start and it starts straight away, what would a solutions to this problem be other than opening bonnet every time cheers for replies
