Starting then cuts out

I have just purchased this citeron when I start it it keeps cutting out i have to keep the revs up, it's fine after a couple of miles, but if I switch it off and leave it for more than an hour i have the same problem, is this an easy fix can someone help before I tear my hair out

Get a garage to test the coolant temperature sensor.
Just explain the symptoms to them.
