Atomatic gearbox fault

driving along you feel a jolt and atomatic warning message on dash, aprox 3sec it goes off,
gar is not changing gears bit of over revving , towed off m6 by aa dianostic's showed
P1671 CRUISE-INTERMITTENT-TRANSMISSION OIL SENSOR SWITCH- OR SWITCH A MALFUNCTION-FAULT CODE 06
nothing regarding gearbox, towed to Halfords Stafford , checked checked everything can't find fault
PLEASE HELP

WHAT!
P1671 is a gearbox fault code.
and as you stated yourself it's intermittent,
So even with the best will in the world Halfords won't find it if it's not faulty AT THAT TIME!
Renew the sensor.
