2006 Citroen Xsara Picasso smokey start up and erratic idle

Hi, first start up of car is very smokey (white) and engine is lumpy, after 20 seconds tickover is good and smoke is gone. car runs fine with no loss of power and every start is smoke free untill next morning. no oil or water problems just embarassing heavy white smoke and engine clatter first thing.
