2004 Citroen Xsara Picasso engine fault light and engine racing when stopping

the engine fault light started coming on and then the engine starts to race this only happens when slowing down or stopping but not all the time if i dont take it out of gear it will carrying driving,the fault code says its glow plugs relay or wiring to them but garage says that would not make the engine race,any one have any ideas or had the same problem,thanks ant..

Garage is right,Personally never had such an issue,I would start by checking for air leak into intake system,check hoses etc,Check brake vacuum side also.If nothing evident may have to go to main dealer who should have the equipment to catch the fault when it,s happening.

it may be your throttle pedal at fault
