2006 Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6 petrol
Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 petrol
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi
My Picasso sometimes struggles to start when I turn the ignition it just makes a load clicking sound. So I rang the Rac he said the battery was fine and it was the starter motor. I've been told its easy enough to change it myself but I can't locate it and I can't find much on it on the internet. I would be grateful for any advice thanks

How do you remove a starter motor on a citroen Picasso?

Answer:

Three bolts secure the starter motor. The motor is located on the r/h side just below the level of the head. You can only see the top bolt from here. Undo that and underneath you'll find the two retaining bolts. Before you take them out, remove the power cables from the motor. You may encounter shorting and sparking if you don't. Professionals recommend disconnecting the battery first. This is the case on my 2001 1.6 8valve piccasso. Took me less than an hour to replace mine.
