Intermittent starting

2006 Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6
Car: Citroen Xsara Picasso
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
I wonder if any one can shed any light on the problem I am having with my 2006 Picasso. Recently when I drive around 30 mins with either the air con, blowers or plug a sat nav in and stop the car it will not start again for around 30-45 mins. The dashboard lights come on but the engine is totally dead when I turn the key. After I about 30-45 mins the car will start. I have had a new battery last week and the garage has checked everything he thinks it can be but to no avail. The diagnostic machine shows nothing when plugged in. I am at a loss at what it could be and don't if I can help it (due to financial reasons) want to take it to a Citreon dealer. Not sure if it could be a temp problem and after 30-45 mins the car cools down, or some kind or relay prob? any help would be gratefully aprreciated!!

Thanks very much for the response on this. I have contacted the garage regarding the starter motor and they said that they have checked this.

One thing that has happened is that as our british weather has cooled down over the past few days, the problem does not happen. I am able to run the car with the air con and radio on and the car will start straight away once the engine is stopped.

The times when the car has suffered intermittent starting is over the past few weeks when we have had days when the temp is over 20c.

Does anyone know if the external hot temp could have an impact on the car not starting once it has been for a run??

Again any help is much appreciated!

Just incase anyone having the same problems, it was the start motor!

Not sure why it was only affected by the warm weather but had no problems since starter motor replaced.

Thanks
