2008 Citroen Xsara Picasso dashboard display flickers when engine switched off

When I switch off the engine and the light above the windscreen is on, the lights on the dashboard flicker intermittently. I haven't noticed this happening when the light above windscreen is in off position. Anyone any ideas?

Had a similar problem with my picasso 2 years ago, took it to citreon charged me silly money to fix...didnt sort it, then took it to back street mechanic who did a very simple dash reset. Cost me a voluntary fiver.
