2005 Citroen Xsara Picasso second speed digit not displaying correctly!

Hi,
I am hoping someone can give me a tip withought having to spend a lot at a garage to correct what I hope may be a simple issue.
The other day, just after doing some shopping noticed that the second digit on my speedo was not working properly. It now only shows one or two of the dashes that normally link together to form the number.
I thought if it was a bulb issue then this would affect the full number?
Any help or tips would be very much appreciated.

Unfortunetly that sounds like a fault with the actual dash display.

I had this problem, only I lost half of the total display, the display is lit by a row of small bulbs, if any of these fail you lose that part of your display. Cost £35 to replace faulty section of bulbs but with a flat-tipped screwdriver can do it yourself. Just need to remove front fascia unit.
