Front electric windows not working

Hi - new to this site and looking for some advice. My son's Xantia both front windows have packed up at the same time. For a couple of weeks they were playing up - sometime working and somtime not or needed a bit of a 'nudge'. Checked fuses and even took door panel off but could not see anything - any ideas?

check the wiring harness that goes from the body to the door are secure and check the wires are not damaged,check the connectors on the window switches,also disconnect the connector going to the electric motor to make sure you have live and earth.have you checked all fuses cos some fuses protect numerous circuits,
