2001 Citroen Synergie engine cutting out

when driving in rain, the engine cuts out. We have only had the car a couple of weeks, 51 plate, first registered Sept 2001. Any suggestions please, No owner's manual with the car, but one on its way from e-bay.

check the mafsensor and air filter are not full of water,if you are getting anywarning lights on then check for fault codes

I have checked the air filter (clean), where is the MAF sensor on the Synargie. There was a bag covering something in the engine, but no idea what that was!
