Won't start!!

This might be totally unrelated, but, for about 3 weeks, after driving the car I can't get my alarm to turn on - if I leave the car for 10-15 mins and go back to turn the alarm on, it'll let me do it then. The other problem is that my battery died last week, so I got a new one fitted but it's died again this morning... Do you think these problems are unrelated or both part of the same problem?? My dad's mentioned it may be the alternator...

sounds like the alternator but have the car tested to be sure that you are not throwing your money away any good motorfactors will be able to test the alternator and battery for you and this will tell if there is some thing draining the battery too
