We have issues with the BMW inserts loose, the trick I was told by my bmw geek was to put some engine oil in the bottom and it will suck it down tight. It works on the bmw , but it maybe a manufacturer fault or slight variation in make or model of insert, only thing I can suggest is place a spacer of the desired thickness in the bottom of the strut, but b carefully its done properly and you will have no issues.
