Rear washer not working

Never done one , but been told this is a very common fault on that car .First place I would check is behind trim on tailgate . Normally see water leaking out where ever hose has come off which helps to locate fault .

HI, thanks. I checked there following your suggestion and all appears to be ok however, a lot of investigation and I found water under the drivers carpet. Taking the battery cover off the floor to the front is a little wet but haven't been able to get the carpet out. I took off the front offside wheel arch liner and found the pump. I expected 2 hoses but only saw one so guess that the hose splits somewhere but can't see where the hose goes from the pump into the engine or passenger compartment.
It is a 2003 model. I can't also work out how activating the front or rear washer would pump water to only the one selected? I am no mechanic though!
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

there should be two pipes coming from the washer pump as the pump cannot deliver to front or rear washers down one pipe. the common place for the pipe problem is in the rear of the car on the drivers side in the boot you will see a plastic vented cover. remove this and usually you find the pipe has just blown off a connecting piece. as for the water in the foot well get the air conditioning drain checked. i would do this immediatley because the iarbag ecu is located on the floor and if the water gets into the wiring i have known a caes of all airbags deployong.

Hi, I've got the same problem - rear washer not working, small puddle under the drivers side carpet just in front of the battery compartment. Jeff, how did you fix this in the end?
