2006 Citroen C8 circuit board problem post software upgrade

Car: Citroen C8
Year: 2006
Variant: mpv
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
My car was invited in by Citroen for a free computer software update, the next day my fob stopped working and my side lights stated coming on even though switched off, and car beeping at me when I removed keys implying lights on even though they are not.
I returned car to Citroen ,they are saying its nothing to do with upgrade and that my circuit board needs replacing at a major cost, I have had this car from new for past six years and have never had any trouble with it..
Too much of a coincedence to me!..
What should I do..

Definately go back and complain. Hopefully you have a full service history and receipts from new. Stand your ground and emphazise that all was well until the `upgrade`
Don`t let them fob you off
good luck
