2005 Citroen C8 car misfiring and shaking?

Hi,
Yesterday car has started misfiring and shaking like mad. Then 10 min later warning light came on "Problem with catalytic converter".
However one mechanic implied it could be just catalytic converter sensors, where's other said about coil pack and third said catalytic converter itself.
I found the garage which will take the car but not till the next week.And I wouldn't like to be overcharged, by "story-teller".
Any ideas anyone????

P.S. Is it safe to drive the car to the garage?

for everyone who has similar problem.
turn out it to be a coil pack.
new one with fitting was about £200.
