acquired alternator for my c5 after old one went down (old one has two wires screwed to back )new 1 has one main cable plus a socket hole with 2 prongs what is this for!

sounds like the alternator you have doesnt just fit your car as will fit others too is the one you have working ok ie charging and turning the light of on the dash too if so you have nothing to worrie about but would be worth enquiring with your supplier just to be sure about the plug socket

I`ve just come across the same problem. I have just got a replacement CL15 alternator but the new one has a 2 pin connector on it rather than a single wire. Can I still use it and if so how do I connect the 2 pins up ?
