Heater box

Hi, I have been having trouble with my heating for ages and a garage ran a check and took out heater flap and said the motor flap is broken in heater box.

That's ok but the garage are saying they need to remove the entire dash to fix the problem and this will take a day work at least.

Is this right? As I read somewhere that the motor flap can be fixed via the glove box without removing the dash?

Any advise??

Thanks a mill

To replace the flap you need to remove the heater box and to do this you definetly need to remove the dash.

The correct way to repair is to remove the dash unfortunately!....however i have heard that there is a way of cutting a section of the heater box open and carrying out a repair without removing the dash. It does sound a bit of a bodge though

Its a dash out I'm afraid and usually a new heater box. The aircon will require a re-gas at the same time. Lot of work to solve it your garage is right about this, sorry I can't give you any good news.
