2002 Citroen C5 anti-polution system inoperable error

Car: Citroen C5
Year: 2002
Variant: 2.0 auto exclusive
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
When I got the car 6mnts ago, it encountered ann error stating the anti-pollution system was faulty.
I thought this was due to cheap fuel as when i put in BP, after a quarter tank the engine light and error message dissapeared.
I then put supermarket petrol in the car again and got the error that the anti pollution system is faulty. I ignored this.
this morning, the car struggled to start ( im assuming because of the cold weather) and the error now states anti-polution system inoperable and the engine management light now flashes and the service light is constantly on.
I have tried the service reset ( hold the button on the left in for 10 seconds) but that hasnt worked.
the car still runs fine. what do i need to do to get rid of this error.
thank you in advance
Shane

You need to get it scanned and see what fault codes are shown .

i have the same fault but my 2lt hpi is now in limp mode and will not rev above 2000 this limits the car to 45mph. The fault you have will be in the exhaust line with one of the 4 senors that citreon have kindly put in there.
Cure is to get a ecu scan by citreon only, other ecu readers just say yes it has a fault but not sure what it is. Citreon charge about £95 this is an hours labour plus the scan but you will know what the issue is.
Then sensors are not cheap you might need some smelling salts when you get a price from citreon for them. I know the two in the cat are about £240 from citreon and can only be got from them the two up by engine are £89 and can be got at GSF & the like of.
