Turbo not working

Hi,

Bought the car 2 weeks ago. The other day I was travelling back home when I notices a whistling sound coming from the engine. This got progessively worse and then found that the car would not go above 50 mph.

Pulled over and checked it out but could not see anything obvious. Had the AA out who said it was the turbo!

Had the car relayed home but now concerned its something big.

Trader I bought the car from has said he will get it looked at. Has anyone else experianced this problem?

my step dad had this problem with his c5 . hes just had the turbo replaced but hes still got problems and has no power.

If your hearing a whistle then at least the turbo is spinning,chances are the ducting has come loose but as its down at the rear lower back of the engine your not going to be able to get to it,honestly,it's a pig for access!
If your trader is going to sort it,let them.
BUT,make sure they check the boost pressure solenoids,if one of these is malfunctioning then the overboost will just blow the ducting off again.
