Power Steering cuts out when starting the car

Receently on starting my car up my PS warning light comes on and I have no powere steering. When I turn engine off and restart often the problem is gone and all is working again however this keeps happening and i am worried if I keep driving it I will cause more problems, help!

check the wiring connector plug going to the power steering pump to make sure it is secure and there are no damaged pins,also check the power steering fluid level.

Heya there, my citroen c1 has been doing the exact same thing! Did you find a solution to the problem? Citroen have quoted me £400 to fix it so i'm really hoping there might be a cheaper fix!

did you get this sorted? I have the same probalem and my garage said that it may be the pump which is going to be "massively expensive". I just need to know what it is and then possibly take my car else where because im not sure whether im being led down the garden path.
