2007 Citroen C1 citroen c1 runs fine then all of a sudden power goes and engine is hot

I can drive along for certain time and my car loses power and engine feels hot. It will restart but just cuts out but if you leave a few hours it goes again

A crank sensor often fails when hot and then ok when cooled down . Could check fuel filter (if fitted on that year )
