Car cutting out while driving after engine fault light displaying

When driving along, both times have been driving in top gear at 40 mph when, without warning engine fault light has displayed and car has started to lose power before stopping completely. After a minute or so car will restart displaying engine fault light. However, next time you start car from cold this resets itself. Very intermittent fault, luckily not on motorway when it happened.

you need to get a diagnostic check done on car see what fault codes have been logged
