Remote central locking packed up, possible due to leak

2001 Citroen Berlingo multispace forte 1.9D
Car: Citroen Berlingo
Year: 2001
Variant: multispace forte 1.9D
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Okay, remote central locking has packed up a while ago, after my remote key collapsed, anyway I got that fixed and since then it has through two batteries and worked 3 times.

I have come across damp in the interior light (directly under where the sunroof controls would be if I had one) and have established that I am getting a small amount of water coming in through the radio aerial.

This is where I am acting on a hunch, if you know otherwise, please say so.

I believe that there is some kind of remote transceiver for the remote central locking, somewhere within this space, that may need replacing.

Any better ideas, plus can you please tell me what is officialy called so that I can get hold of another one?

Don't know if trying this would help ,

CITROEN BERLINGO—98 > - Remote Key Programming

1. Turn the Ignition switch to accessory position using the key, without the remote plip attached.

2. Hold the Plip key towards the receiver at the front of the vehicle.

3. Press the large plip button, then the small plip button on the remote.

4. Repeat for second Plip key if required.

5. Turn the ignition OFF.

6. After 5 seconds the Plip should now operate.
