Citroen Berlingo gearbox : 2nd gear crunches

Intermittently changing to second gear on a 6 spd manual I get a slight crunch , funny thing being some days I'm out with it and it's smoother changes then next day gears feel a bit rubbery and get the second gear crunch . Anybody got a solution to this ?

Could be a weak second gear synchro hub ,Might be worth changing transmission oil , but a long shot
