Indicator/light switch problem.

2008 Citroen Berlingo 1.6 Diesel Multispace
Car: Citroen Berlingo
Year: 2008
Variant: 1.6 Diesel Multispace
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
A couple of days back, the indicator started to behave oddly. Indicating left works fine, but when indicating right, the indicator flashes 3 times then the headlights come on.

If I then flash the headlight main beam on/off, it continues to work.

Also, if I turn the lights fully on, the indicators work as they should.
When I turn the ignition off and open the door with the key removed from the ignition, the alarm sounds. However, if I turn the lightswitch a bit, this stops.

I have ordered a 2nd-hand full unit, but was wondering if the old one could be fixed by replacing the plunger in the end of the switch ?.

Many thanks. I will look at the replacement to make sure it is the same as it has 30 days warranty on it.
