2003 Citroen Berlingo 1.9 diesel van

my berlingo power steering does not work, i have replaced broken coil spring, when jacked up its fine. but there was lots of lumps in the fluid i drained and flushed but it still does not work. and idea?

Replies and fixes

Not much fancy on these,
alternator belt drive pump and the rack,
So I'm guessing the pump internals have gone,
And it's a lot easier to fit a pump than a rack.
And the fact that when it's jacked up and a lot less pressure is required to turn the steering lends it to the pump.
