2005 Citroen Berlingo steering won't unlock no matter what i do

Forgot my key at a friends place last night. Tried to use the spare key which is not a central lock key. It opened the car but would not turn the ignition. Then I accidentally locked the steering. I got the original and when attempting to start the van no matter how I jiggle the steering and key the wheel won't unlock. Blister on my thumb now. What could this be or what should I do? Ignition seems to be fine but not 100% sure :) ... Your help would be much appreciated thanks

Does sound like using wrong key .
