Hello again, please tell me why springs are needed where the exhaust is attached to the engine end and do you tighten these fully are just pinch them up ... thanks

its to allow a bit of movement and help prevent vibration. They will only go so tight as long as you have the correct fixings

As above. Tighten bolt to end of thread, there will be constant pressure on the gasket but it still moves with the engine as the gasket wears the springs will keep pressure on it, its a very good idea but a pig to fit and remove if rusty,

Change the bolts when removing, a new bolt kit costs just a few quid
