Citroen Berlingo periodic cutting out

On 5 occasions over the last 6 months or so,the car has cut-out and not able to restart straight away,however,after 10 minutes or so of trying it starts up but engine management light is on,then goes out after several miles,it runs perfecly well after restart with no other symptoms of a problem. Any clues welcome please.

Best to check the fault codes first,if you do not have a code reader do you know some one that does or have a mechanic friend that can get accesss to diagnostic equiptment
