2006 Chevrolet Tacuma cutting out

Car: Chevrolet Tacuma
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
when cold will not idle ,as soon as you take foot off pedal the engine cuts out , when warmed up for a couple of minutes by revving at 1500 / 2000 rpm it will idle but sometimes at slowish speeds when you brake the engine cuts out again and the brakes & steering lock up ,
even when the engine up well warmed up this happens ie when trying to park in a tight space
It was suggested to me that it could be the
' throttle control ' which also controls the power assisted steering & braking system ??

Check and clean the throttle control valve or replace if necessary.
