Engine warning

2007 Chevrolet Matiz 0.8 s
Car: Chevrolet Matiz
Year: 2007
Variant: 0.8 s
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have had an engine warning light on my Matiz for about a year. Occasionally the engine light flashes. I have had it diagnosed multiple times code is P0300 Multiple engine misfire. I have changed spark plugs that were carbonised after 8000 miles, used fuel additive such as redex for injectors. Replaced ignition leads, coil pack and fuel & oil filter change.

The light came back on, diagnostic suggests EGR, Cat and O2 sensor not ready, no garage has mentioned them as an issue. Engine seems to choke occasionally, suspected to be when misfiring.

Needs scanned for STFT which is short term fuel trim.
But this is only a starting place.
The STFT ought to be below 5%

I have not yet checked the STFT but the P300 misfire code appears on occasion. 02 sensor is fine, the CAT has been checked and there is rust on the front end of the exhaust. EGR fault suspected.

Oil and coolant change were done. Engine still chokes and is idling now at 800 revs instead of previous 1100.

The issue still persists.
