Cigarette lighter

2009 Chevrolet Matiz
Car: Chevrolet Matiz
Year: 2009
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I need to use the lighter socket as a feed, so need it to be live when no key in the ignition. My car often spends days unused, and is then only used for short journeys. I want to use a solar charger through the cig lighter socket to trickle charge the battery. Any ideas?

Are you sure the cig lighter socket is not a constant live ?, usually is . If not you could just get crocodile clip connector direct to battery .

Thanks. Both radio and cig lighter are only live when ignition key turned to ACC. In order, going clockwise, the key positions are LOCK (the only one where it is possible to remove the key), ACC, ON and START.
