Possible ABS Problem

2006 Chevrolet Matiz 0.8 SE Auto
Car: Chevrolet Matiz

Odd noise and feeling when almost at a stop when braking. Bit of a twang and grinding feeling, or as if something is getting stuck and then releasing ? So had new discs and pads put on, in case that was the problem as they did need it - but no difference. Someone mentioned it might be an ABS problem, which is not dangerous but expensive to fix ? But they didnt go any further with that. Have only recently spent out on a full service, new cambelt, mot and the brakes, and not keen to cough up another lot of cash until I know exactly what it is ? Some talk on forums of broken rings or dodgy sensors ? Anyone else come across this ? Annoying because I was on the point of selling the car but couldn't possibly with this issue. Thanks for anything you can offer ?

Would have thought if it was an ABS fault it would have triggered warning light .Might be worthwhile checking front coil springs for breakage .

Might say this doesn't happen all the time, and just when I think it's gone away and fixed itself, it starts again just to annoy me ! Now I don't understand abs and how it works but knowing there is a sensor involved, could it possibly be linked to a long term nagging electric issue I experience. I get random issues like the warning lights come on saying a door is open when it's not but I have to go round and slam all the doors to turn it off, at other times the radio decides to keep turning on and off, occasionally the internal light flickers on and off and so on. Each issue takes it in turn to annoy me - they never occur at the same time and then go away completely for many months. At the moment none of these things are happening ........ just a thought

ABS has more than one sensor .The door open warning and the interior light flickering will be caused by a door micro switch sticking occasionally , both linked .
