hi all my freind says that when she brakes she hears a knocking noise and the abs light come on after she went over a speed ramp

Sounds like ABS kicking in . May have a faulty sensor or wiring at sensor . Need to check for both or get it scanned and it should throw up a code .

some one has broke the side of one of the plugs that go in to the car could this cause the problem ?

If it's a wiring plug / connector for the ABS , that's probably your fault .
