2003 BMW X5 alarm and key remote not working

Yesterday my alarm was starting by itself a long time. that happens very often but this time the alarm system stopped working at all,the indicator is not flashing when I lock it,and the key remote is not working as well,I lock it manual.On the remote works only the trunk button . Any idea what can I do to fix it?

but the trunk button works. the lock and ulnock buttons doesn`t work. If I need a new battery I suppose it won`t work any button on the key?
